Jill Baxter studied at the London College of Printing and worked for several years as a Graphic Designer. But since returning to the north she has developed techniques using a varied assortment of materials including fabrics, paper maché, wires and wood, to produce three dimensional wall studies of flowers and plants in their everyday places. Her jewellery has developed alongside this. From blooms and blossoms she has borrowed a fragrant pallet of colours and a variety of their pleasing shapes. By using a delicate mix of small glass beads and her own handmade beads, she endeavours to translate some of the enjoyment that flowers have given her into timeless garlands fastened with silver.
